New Features In VisionPro 10.0

This VisionPro 10.0 release supports several new features not found in previous releases: 

  • GigE Vision camera acquisition at 1, 5 or 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps)

    Cognex does not publish a list of supported 5/10 Gbps cameras but suggests that any GigE Vision compliant 5/10 Gbps camera should be compatible with this release.

    Be aware the Cognex CGF-8700 series frame grabber does not support GigE Vision cameras that acquire images above 1 Gbps. Contact your 5/10 Gbps GigE Vision camera manufacturer for a suitable GigE Vision frame grabber.

  • C++ API

    This release allows you to create C++ applications using the Microsoft Visual Studio Framework on the Microsoft Windows PC platform.

    Use the QuickBuild prototyping environment to create and save a ToolBlock of configured vision tools and then import that ToolBlock into your Visual Studio application.

    To view the C++ API reference documentation, install the VisionPro 10.0 Documentation and access it through the Start menu at Cognex VisionPro 10.0 -> VisionPro 10.0 User Documentation.

  • The SmartLine tool

    This release adds the SmartLine tool for locating edge features in your acquired images. A SmartLine tool can locate line features with the highest vision tool reliability while shortening the time to determine the best search parameters.

  • VisionPro Deep Learning workspace integration

    This release supports the DLRuntime Tool, allowing you to import and host a VisionPro Deep Learning Workspace into your QuickBuild application. A DLRuntime Tool allows your QuickBuild application access to all the images, vision tools and results supported by VisionPro Deep Learning software.

    The computer running the vision application must have both of the following installed:

    • Cognex VisionPro 10.0 or greater
    • Cognex VisionPro Deep Learning 2.0 or greater

  • Updates to the ID tool

    This release supports the following new features for the ID tool: 

    • Hotbars technology for locating, extracting and decoding 1D barcodes quickly and accurately
    • Process control metrics to return such metrics as print growth, symbol contrast and more

  • New QuickBuild layout and design

    This release redesigns the QuickBuild utility as a user interface for creating ToolBlocks of input image sources and the vision tools to analyze them. A saved ToolBlock can be imported into a C++ or .NET C# Visual Studio application.

  • A new Display Control and API for use with Microsoft Foundation Class (MFC) applications

  • Support for co-installations of VisionPro releases

    This release can be installed in addition to other VisionPro releases already installed on your computer.

  • A separate VisionPro documentation installer.

    This release includes Release Information, a User's Guide and all API reference documentation in HTML5 format. Cognex offers a separate documentation installer which includes a VisionPro Documentation Home Page. Access the Home Page from the Windows Start menu by choosing Cognex->VisionPro 10.0->VisionPro 10.0 User Documentation.

  • New sample applications for C++ and .NET C#
