SLMP PLC Configuration

The vision sensor supports SLMP, which is a common protocol that establishes connection between CC-Link IE and TCP/IP-based products. With SLMP, the vision sensor can communicate with Mitsubishi PLCs and Motion Controllers (MC) installed on the network.

In contrast to EtherNet/IP-based and in PROFINET-based networks, in SLMP, the vision sensor initiates the communication with the PLC/MC.

To configure SLMP:

  1. Install and configure the PLC-specific files and software on the PC.

  2. Verify that the PLC protocol is enabled and that the vision sensor appears in the software used to configure the PLC.

  3. Connect to the vision sensor.

  4. Go to the Communications tab of the Settings menu.

  5. Enable the Inputs and Outputs toggles.

  6. Click on the SLMP button.

  7. Fill in the fields.

  8. Click Apply.
