Vision-Guided Robotics

Vision-Guided Robotics (VGR Vision-Guided Robotics is an In-Sight Spreadsheet feature that uses machine vision to guide robot motion through Robotics String Functions and VGR commands.) combines machine vision and robot motion to enable robots to accurately locate, pick, and place parts despite variations in position, orientation, or placement.

In-Sight Vision Suite supports VGR applications through Robotics String Functions and guided workflows that enable communication between the vision system and the robot controller. These tools support stationary vision systems as well as robot-mounted vision systems that move in coordination with the robot, performing common VGR applications such as guided pick and guided place tasks.

Using standard In-Sight Vision Suite vision tools, you can detect features such as fiducial markers or part geometry, and use that information to calculate robot target positions relative to the coordinate system of the robot.
