User Roles and Access Levels
There are four different Access Levels on an In-Sight vision system: Full, Elevated, Protected, and Locked.
-
Full: Users with Full access are allowed complete access to the In-Sight vision system. Full users are typically developing the vision job that will run on the vision system. Full users have the ability to connect to a vision system, run and use the adapter of the vision system, and can manage users, access levels and passwords. In case of jobs, this mode allows full access for the Web HMI. Web HMI elements are enabled or disabled according to the logic on the Web HMI. For example, if the Enabled property of an element is true or false, or different binding associations are in place to enable or disable an element based on other conditions.
-
Elevated: Users with Elevated access have the ability to connect to a vision system, but cannot use certain key utilities to which only Full users have access. Elevated users are typically engineers whose tasks include configuring vision systems and developing vision jobs. Elevated users cannot modify users and access levels, enable vision system auditing, or change the state of the vision system through utilities such as Factory Reset or Licensing.
Note: Full and Elevated users can make online backups and save jobs. -
Protected: Users with Protected access are in a restricted mode, however, some options are still available. Protected users cannot press the Connect button in the software to connect to a vision system, and as such, they cannot launch the adapter of the vision system to modify a job. In case of jobs, Protected users have normal access for the Web HMI, but cannot save jobs. Web HMI Elements are enabled or disabled according to the logic on the Web HMI. For example, if the Enabled property of an element is true or false, or different binding associations have been created that enable or disable an element based on other conditions.
-
Locked: Users with Locked access have the most restrictive access level. Locked users cannot press the Connect button in the software to connect to a vision system, and as such, they cannot launch the adapter of the vision systemeither to modify a job. In the Web HMI, Locked users can only view the job results, and cannot load, save, or validate jobs, trigger or change the Online/Offline status of the vision system, or change the displayed Web HMI view.
The following table shows the permissions for different user access levels:
