Pattern Location with PatMax RedLine
Use a PatMax RedLine tool to create a trained pattern and then search for that pattern in successive images. The tool can be configured to search an image for the trained pattern regardless of angle or scale, or when the pattern appears partially obscured:
The tool uses a multi-resolution search algorithm, subsampling the image to locate coarse features to identify candidate areas that might match the pattern, and then examines those candidate matches at a fine resolution to determine a matching score and alignment pose.
A PatMax RedLine tool returns information about each result such as:
- Score: A numeric value representing the similarity between the found pattern and the trained pattern, where higher values indicate a closer match.
- Pose: The linear transform the describes the pose (position, rotation, and scale) of this result.
- Coverage: The fraction of trained pattern features found in the result.
