Cognex ViDi Licenses

The type of license on the Cognex Security Dongle determines the functionality and performance level of the ViDi tools in both runtime and training operation.

Base

The base-level license is not optimized for fast performance, resulting in performance that is comparable to a human inspector. This option works best with a single GPU (and is not compatible with multiple GPUs), and is suitable for runtime operation, but too slow for most training operations.

This option only contains a runtime license for deployed applications. With this option, the tools will only operate in inference mode, and cannot be retrained while the application is deployed.
Standard

The standard-level license covers most inspection applications, and is capable of using a single GPU (and is not compatible with multiple GPUs).

This option contains both the Runtime and Training licenses for deployed applications. With these options, the tools can operate in inference mode, and can also be retrained while the application is deployed.
Advanced

The advanced-level license is for high-speed and/or high-resolution inspection applications. It is capable of using up to four GPUs.

This option also contains both the Runtime and Training licenses for deployed applications. With these options, the tools can operate in inference mode, and can also be retrained while the application is deployed. This license type also supports multiple GPU support in these configurations.
