Set Up Vision Systems for VGR
To install the vision systems for VGR, perform the following steps:
-
Fix the camera:
- Stationary camera: Fix the camera to a rigid frame. Place the camera outside the robot moving area, including the robot hand and the picked part. The FOV of the camera must cover the area of the loaded target parts.
- Robot-mounted camera: Fix the camera to the robot hand. In case of a robot with six axes, fix it onto the sixth axis. Use a rigid stay to tie the camera on the robot to reduce the vibration of the camera. The stay must be long enough, otherwise the robot hand can obscure the FOV of the camera.
-
When the body of the camera is installed, find the camera on the network using In-Sight Explorer and configure the network settings. For more information, see Networking
-
Place the part:
-
Stationary camera: Place the part inside the FOV of the camera.
-
Robot-mounted camera: Place the part and move the robot to the image acquisition position.
-
- Turn on the light and adjust the exposure time setting on the AcquireImage function (A0 cell). Turn on live video mode in the In-Sight Explorer.
- Check the live video, and adjust the focus and aperture of the lens.
