Acquire Images

In machine vision applications, without good quality images, no matter how well designed the application, it will not perform well. When considering how to acquire the best image of the part (it must highlights the part's features of interest), first calculate the physical setup that will be required. Determining the proper physical setup of an In-Sight vision system involves calculating the optimal size of the part in the image, the working distance between the vision system and the part, and the optimal Field of View (FOV).

Next, the most difficult aspect of the problem: designing a lighting and optical solution that best optimizes the features of interest and minimizes shadows.
