Overview of PatMax Pattern

The purpose of this topic is to provide information about the basic functionality of the PatMax Pattern functions (4.x.x - current firmware) job files. The default settings found in PatMax Pattern functions work well only in cases where the image and pattern to be trained have good contrast and little or no background clutter, such as a textured surface. Even in cases where the image is clear and uncluttered, it is still useful to optimize the function for speed, efficiency, and accuracy.

The PatMax Pattern functions are illustrated here, but the same principles apply to the next gen PatMax RedLine functions (5.1.0 - current firmware) as seen in Overview of PatMax RedLine. The EasyBuilder version of PatMax Pattern hides certain key parameters which are necessary for optimizing performance. Therefore, this document will deal only with the Spreadsheet PatMax Pattern functions. The same principles can be applied to EasyBuilder by round-tripping into the spreadsheet to edit the EasyBuilder PatMax Pattern functions.
