Operator Interactions

Within the factory automation environment, operators are the people responsible for managing and maintaining the equipment within the environment. Most operators will not be responsible for designing and programing the machine vision applications, so considerations need to be made regarding user accessibility.

Think through what type of startup options should be implemented, as well as how to manage the users (user names and user lists must be created, as well as their passwords). The operators will also need an interface with which to interact with the vision system. Here, consider what parameters should be configurable, the level of interaction the operator will be responsible for, and the layout and presentation of the interface, depending on the development environment the job was created in.
