Read ID Codes Identification Tool - Settings Tab
Defines a new code type or symbol. The Learn button is used when you are presenting a new code or symbol to the tool. Press the Learn button after you have presented the tool with a new code or symbol, and the tool will automatically attempt to decode it. After successfully decoding the new code type or symbol, the tool will subsequently only read or verify codes or symbols of that type.
Displays the type of decoded code or symbol.
Defines the operational mode of the tool: Read or Match String.
Read (the default Mode) is used when the information in the code or symbol is unknown. The tool will automatically decode the information contained in the code or symbol, and display the decoded information in the String parameter.
Match String is used to verify that a known barcode or symbol is present and readable. The tool will decode the information contained in barcodes or symbols and compare the decoded information against the information you entered in the Match String parameter.
In the latter case, the tool outputs the mismatch data (Mismatch and Mismatch_Count) which can be used by the EasyView and other communication devices in the Communication Application Step. The mismatch data can be selected from the Select EasyView Items dialog, the Select OPC Tags dialog or the Select Input/Output Data dialog.
The mismatch data is useful when the user needs to determine if the tool is not able to read the code, or if the code can be read but the decoded information does not match the defined Match String. For example, when the tool is not able to read the code, there might be an issue with the label printing process or the vision system setup. When the code is read successfully but the decoded information does not match the defined Match String, the wrong label could be printed.
Defines the expected string to be read (only enabled when the Mode parameter is set to Match String). Enter the information that you expect the tool to decode.
Defines the amount of time, in milliseconds (0 to 30,000), that the tool will search for codes before execution is stopped and the tool returns a Fail.
Displays the decoded information.
