ReadDevice

Imports data into a vision system from another host on the network using a TCP/IP connection.

Note: When establishing a TCP/IP device connection between two In-Sight vision systems, devices can be Online or Offline.

ReadDevice does not have a property sheet. You can configure this function directly in the cell, or in the Formula Bar on the Job Edit toolbar, either by typing in cell values directly, or selecting the cell references of the supported data structures.

ReadDevice Inputs

Syntax: ReadDevice(Device)

Parameter	Description
Device	A reference to a spreadsheet cell containing a Device data structure that a TCPServer or a TCPClient function creates.

ReadDevice Outputs

Returns

The data that is imported from the TCP/IP client or server whenever a connection is established. Returns #ERR if a referenced cell does not contain a valid Device data structure, or the received packet exceeds the Max Packet Size set in the Device.
