Network Troubleshooting Prerequisites

Before proceeding to review the network troubleshooting tips and suggestions, please ensure that the following prerequisites are met.

In-Sight Vision Suite PC requirements

• Windows 10 operating system, with version 1809 (OS build 17763), at a minimum.
• The PC must have a minimum of 2.1 GB of disk space for the installation of In-Sight Vision Suite and the In-Sight ViDi adapter.
• The PC must also have additional storage capacity for adapter project creation and utilization.

In-Sight D900 series vision system requirements

• The vision system has established an Ethernet link.
• The vision system is on the same subnet as the PC running In-Sight Vision Suite.

• The vision system is being powered by a 5A power supply.

  Note:

  • If using an integrated or external illumination accessory, the 10 meter and 15 meter Breakout cables are not supported.
  • When using the 15 meter Breakout cable, full 24VDC voltage must be maintained at the input leads of the Breakout cable when the vision system is operating.

In-Sight D900 series vision system Emulator requirements

• Your Cognex Security Dongle must be programmed with the following licenses:

In-Sight ViDi PC requirements

• Your Cognex Security Dongle must be programmed with the following licenses:

  65110	InSight.MaxCameraLimit	1 or greater

• For the Cognex CFG-8704e frame grabber, the latest Cognex pylon driver has been installed (this requires that the PC be restarted).
• The GigE camera is securely connected to the Cognex CFG-8704e frame grabber.
• The In-Sight ViDi PC can detect the GigE camera using the Camera Configuration utility.
• Windows Defender Firewall is turned off.
• If another third party firewall software is being used, it may need to be turned off, as well.
