Getting Started
The Cognex Network Server (CNS) is a solution designed to manage authentication and authorization between customers and devices when connecting through In-Sight Explorer, WebHMI, or directly to devices.
The Cognex Network Server solution consists of the following tools:
- The Cognex Network Server Manager is a desktop application you can use to configure the CNS.
- The Network Services is a web application you can use to manage users, configure user permissions for devices, and audit logging in CNS.
After installing the Cognex Network Server software, you can launch the Cognex Network Server Manager application from the Cognex Network Server icon in the Microsoft® Windows® System Tray. If you cannot find the Cognex Network Server icon in the System Tray, you can open the application from the Windows Start menu (All Programs > Cognex > Cognex Network Server Manager).
